Blacks RFC
The Blacks Rugby Football Club (BRFC) was formed in 1955 by a few rugby zealots. In days of old, the players had to provide their own jerseys. The club's early members were mainly Malaysians working in Singapore and a few local school teachers. Finding it much easier to obtain a black coloured jersey than any other, the impoverished lot donned black jerseys for their games – hence the name Blacks Rugby Football Club
1996 saw the birth of the Women's Wing , which has established itself in the women's rugby scene both locally and regionally. Today, the Women's Wing are the three-time defending champions of the Singapore Rugby Union's National Rugby Championship and have proved to be a veritable force to be reckoned with in neighbouring shores.
The official beer of the Blacks RFC is Victoria Bitter
